Guest guest Posted January 5, 2009 Report Share Posted January 5, 2009 Rhino found shot in E Cape reserves January 04 2009 at 02:02PM Two rhinoceros have been found shot dead in two private game reserves in the Eastern Cape since December, police said on Sunday.In the most recent case rangers at the Kwantu game reserve found the carcass of a bull rhinoceros, with the horn still attached, on Saturday morning, said Inspector Milanda Coetzer in a statement.The Port Elizabeth Organised Crime unit was investigating.On December 5, 2008 a rhinoceros was shot dead in the Shamwari game reserve near Grahamstown."At about 8pm one of the field rangers... was on a game drive with tourists when he heard 10 gun shots fired from an automatic rifle."The carcass was found with the horn still intact.
