Guest guest
The protests will be on sidewalks, etc out near the stores. I know that the ones we have been having in Fairfax VA - check out www.PetStoreCruelty.org - are held in front of the small mall Petland is located in. For 3 and 1/2 years we were out there every week, in all kinds of weather - we also had some 8 Hour Protests when we stood there the whole time the store was open! We have seen the semi trailers pull up every Monday with MO tags, a big Hunte sign - and "Jesus Saves" on the side. I have talked to a driver, seen the inside of the truck, smelled the sickening sweet smell of vomit from the poor precious innocent babies being hauled all over the country, etc. The whole time we have been out there with our protests of Petland we have held signs that say "Petland Sells Sick Puppies" / "Petland = Puppy Mills" / on so on. We have NEVER been sued by them! So, if the signs were NOT true, you would have thought they would take us to court! Actually we took them to court several times and they were fined for not having resting pads in the cages for the puppies - some so very sick, all so very sad. Horrific, barbaric business - they ALL make so much money off of these precious beings and their lives - it is the mama breeding dogs that suffer the most - they never get out except to be killed, sometimes very brutally. The puppy mill dogs lose their minds, their soul and spirit as well as having their teeth rot, are debarked by shoving metal rods down their throats, etc. Sorry - I could go on and on about this abuse. IT IS ALL JUST FOR THE MONEY! Yes, thousands of animals are killed in "shelters" every day all over this country - some even dogs that came from Petland, and any other pet stores. That is why we need to boycott - stop buying anything at pet stores, Petland included, and keep letting others know about Puppy Mills. And, when you can, get out there with your friends and your signs AND PROTEST!! .. --- On Sat, 12/20/08, Julia Ferrell <juliaferrell wrote: Julia Ferrell <juliaferrellRe: [CowetaKids] TODAY!! I don't see how petland can have any defense saying they don't support puppy mills. They sure don't get those puppies from the animal shelters. Some of their puppies cost 1200 and 1500. My daughter and I were in one of their stores one day and asked. We weren't planning on buying regardless, but my daughter likes to look at the fish and the puppies. I just had to ask the price on some of the puppies out of curiosity. I was so shocked. Such a shame to pay that when in the same town animals in the shelter are being euthanized for being homeless:-( Pat Breen <pbreen317 >WhyNotMe <WhyNotMe@ s.com>; VApetrescue <VApetrescue>; FiveStateRescue <Five_State_Rescue>; AmericanSeniorCats MD <americanseniorcats>; mopuppysavers; swmok9sandfriends; CowetaKids <CowetaKids@gro ups.com>; mapleleafanimalsCc: Jennifer MO <jrose_w >; Kristina MO <kristinawak@ >; Melanie MO <mweaver913 (AT) prodigy (DOT) net>; Melissa MO <m.mckee (AT) sbcglobal (DOT) net>; Barbara VA <info (AT) fourpaws (DOT) org>; Dee VA <efh4n (AT) virginia (DOT) edu>; Donna VA <4belchersnva@ verizon.net>; Jeannette VATrans <usaigi (AT) comcast (DOT) net>; Sylva VA <sylvasylva59@ earthlink. net>; Erin <tierbee (AT) aol (DOT) com>; Audra <ajajakesancholeo@ >Saturday, December 20, 2008 1:45:01 AM[CowetaKids] TODAY!! In an attempt to distract the public from their support of puppy mills they have pulled a portion of an HSUS video describing the myriad of HSUS work against puppy mills in 2008, of which the Petland investigation is a part of, and claim HSUS used that video as part of our Petland expose. Nothing could be further from the truth. When people watch the video in question, available atwww.humanesociety. org/puppymills <http://www.humaneso ciety.org/ puppymills> they can clearly see what portions of the video describe the overall work of HSUS and the work specifically associated with the Petland investigation. The "open letter" goes on to allege that Petland has called upon the HSUS to report the "substandard" facilities it investigated to the USDA, but it misses the point of our report: The USDA itself has already visited these facilities, has found multiple deficiencies again and again at many of them, and has allowed them to remain licensed. Petland, in turn, has continued to buy from many of these facilities despite the availability of USDA reports indicating their deficiencies. We are sorry to see that Petland continues to attempt to mislead the public into believing they don't support the puppy mill industry. You can help get the word out by continuing to do what you've been doing for years!!
