I just got off the phone with a very RUDE and nasty woman and asked her about Liz and the dogs that were rescued. She said that she had been told a DIFFERENT story than the one that is going around on the internet from Kitt, but that the shelter there (Montcalm County Animal Shelter - Stanton County Animal Shelter) has a CONTRACT with R & R Research. I learned that R & R is a "middle man" and purchases dogs from the shelter through Jim who gets them (not sure if Jim is part of R & R or just sells them dogs). This R & R Research group SELLS DOGS to DIFFERENT research facilities for ANIMAL TESTING (this includes VIVISECTION - disecting an animal WHILE alive and able to feel everything in most cases). This woman talked about their contract and Jim and R & R like she was telling her kid a bedtime story, SO CALM and just didn't care the least bit about these animals. I wanted to say somethings to her that

I didn't say because she did end up sharing info with me. I was told that Liz is coming back to the shelter tomorrow because Jim was contacted by someone and agreed to bring her back so that the rescue group could take her back.

I hope this rescue group has a safe place for Liz and we need to MAKE SURE she does come back tomorrow. I was told that the rescue group and/or Kitt who picked up the 5 dogs and left Liz behind ONLY PAID FOR FIVE dogs and were NEVER told by the shelter that Liz would still be there, as they claim that they NEVER promise a dog to anyone (basically whoever gets there first and pays for an animal can take them). I am so happy Liz will be saved, but it makes me sick to think of the animals that this shelter allows to be sold to research.

The woman said something along the lines of, "Oh, I don't know if they go to research labs, they just take the animals, we don't know anything." and I said, "You don't know anything, despite having a CONTRACT with R & R who you TOLD ME sells animals to research companies??? What do you THINK happens to them?" What a cold-hearted woman. I wish she could be sold for research, I'd sell her myself. She talked about the dogs like they meant nothing.
