Guest guest
Hi all, We want to thank everybody who took the time to come to the demo on Friday - the turnout was really great this year! We counted between 30-40 people, pretty much everywhere you went, you could see an activist with a sign or handing out leaflets. Many people stopped to watch (to their horror!) the Chinese fur farm footage that Susan was showing on the "wearable TV"; and most of the people that wore real fur trim hung their heads as they walked by..... Unfortunately, there was one officer (a Sergeant!) who was telling leafleters that it was illegal to "approach" people with a leaflet; that they had to be "asked" for one. I cleared that up with him (as if he didn't know) and the activists and they continued. I offered him a copy of the city code about leafleting, but hmmm, he wouldn't take it. Hopefully, we'll see much less next year of the disgusting sight of fur stolen from the beautiful and innocent, suffering animals that die horrible deaths because some hag thinks they look good in it. It didn't seem to be nearly as popular this year as it has the last few, so that's great! Thanks again to all who came out to speak for the animals! Here are a few pictures. Guest guest
Good one, Shannon. I'd like to see more people posting stuff regarding saving and helping animals in their own areas - it inspires people. The dog's a star, and the scantily clad girl is a heroine - looked like a freezing day there. Hugs for her and you all. - P.--- On Mon, 1/12/08, Shannon Morgan <fortheanmls wrote: Shannon Morgan <fortheanmls FFF Dallas"AnimalsInNeed" <AnimalsInNeed >, "Anti-Fur Society" <AntiFurSociety >, "Anti-FurStopCruelty" <Anti-FurStopCruelty >, "FurFreeHouston" <FurFreeHouston >, "Animal Rights Resources" <animalrightsactivistresources >, animalrightsandvegans , "Animals Advocates" <animalsadvocates >, AnimalsNeedUsNow , "ARAs" <AR_Activists >, extreme-animal-rights , "Fortheanimals7" <fortheanimals7 >, "" , "In Solidarity with Animals" <ISWA >, "Planet4Animals" <Planet4Animals >, "Speak 4 Animals" <Speak_4_Animals >, "Vegan_Animal_Rights" <Vegan_Animal_Rights >Monday, 1 December, 2008, 4:54 PM Hi all, We want to thank everybody who took the time to come to the demo on Friday - the turnout was really great this year!
