BUTLER, COUNTY, Kansas--Authorities say 46-year-old Kevin Jantz of Newton had hunted deer in the area of NW 160th Street and Homestead Road for several years.

On Saturday afternoon, Jantz was mounting his deer stand when he fell and was seriously injured.

His brother found him and called emergency crews.

Jantz was taken to Wesley Medical Center Saturday evening, but died a short time after his arrival there.
