When is hunting going to be ILLEGAL!!!! An officer follows a hunter to his tree stand in Swan Lake. A child was reportedly shot when one of the hunter¢s bullets traveled through a mobile home nearby and hit a young boy in the neck. Times Herald-Record/MICHELE HASKELL November 17, 2008 A Swan Lake toddler has died and a New York City man has been charged with manslaughter in the hunting accident on a rural Sullivan County road Sunday afternoon. State Police have arrested Edward J. Taibi, 45, of Howard Beach for the shooting accident that they say killed a 16 month old girl who was in her home on Horseshoe Lake Road. Police say Taibi was hunting and shot once at a deer, wounding it. He then fired a second time from about 400 feet away from the mobile home, hitting the little girl in the upper torso. She was taken to Catskill Regional Medical Center, then flown to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, where she died from her injuries.
