RESEARCH ETHICS UNIT

We refer readers to http://www.nspca.co.za/ under MEDIA RELEASES for the statement we issued late last week on a backyard experimenter. What happened in Bloemfontein can have no justification whatsoever and we have no doubt that everyone supports us in making this statement including the scientific community who follow protocols. Appreciation is expressed to all role-players. We'd like to pay homage to the personnel at the SPCA Bloemfontein of the NSPCA's Research Ethics Unit on this matter and for their sterling work in general.
