Six-Month Old Puppy Killed By Assistant Fire Chief In Riverside Los Angeles Assistant Fire Chief Glynn Johnson has been placed on administrative leave following his fatal beating of a neighbor's 6-month old dog. Read about this case in the Los Angeles Times here. Johnson remains un-arrested, in his Riverside County home on paid administrative leave while the brutal beating of his neighbor's 6-month-old puppy, Karley - which resulted in a crushed skull, dislocated eye, broken jaw, and broken nose - is being investigated. The puppy had to be euthanized because of the degree of her suffering and the fact that she sustained permanent brain damage. The accused is claiming "self-defense" for his actions. Some Los Angeles-area activists have scheduled a demonstration in front Mr. Johnson's home this Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. We must emphasize that this is not an official IDA demo and we are not the organizers of it - we are providing this information on behalf of the activists organizing the demo. We urge any attendees to remember that demos in residential areas must be conducted differently than demos in business areas. Please conduct yourself accordingly and try to make the neighbors friends, not enemies. Do not take any action that you would not want done in your own neighborhood. Do not trespass on private property, do not litter, and do not break any law. A meeting spot has been designated to carpool for the demo: Meet at 2:00 P.M. on the corner of Washington St. and Van Buren Blvd. in Riverside County , CA 92504 on Saturday, November 15, 2008.
