A 60-year-old Calgary man was shot dead in a hunting accident Monday in northern Alberta, police say.RCMP officers in Westlock said the accident happened in the bush near Highway 801, roughly 70 kilometres north of the town. The man was staying with relatives when, police said, he spotted some deer on Monday at around 9:30 a.m. The victim then went hunting for the animals with a partner, an 81-year-old Bonnyville man..The two got separated at some point during the hunt, with the Calgary man walking into a treed area while his partner waited in a nearby field. Later, the partner took a shot into the treed area and struck the victim, who was killed. The victim's name has not been released. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, and foul play is not suspected. © Calgary Herald 2008
