Romero P. Reyes, 67, of Lawton died Sunday in a tree stand while hunting for deer with a black powder rifle, Comanche County Sheriff Kenny Stradley said. Reyes was shot in the chest near the heart, Stradley said, and it appeared he accidentally shot himself. Reyes' body was taken to the state medical examiner's office, Stradley said. "It appears to be an accident at this time," Stradley

said. The victim was hunting in a field about 5 miles southwest of Cache, near Woodlawn and Quanah roads. When he didn't return, people began looking for him and found him shot to death at the base of a tree stand. Investigators said it appeared he shot himself while climbing out of the stand.
