Guest guest
I just wrote this letter to the Rep. Evans in PA, only to be informed that I could not send it. Here it is, I hope someone in PA can use it. Dear Representative Evans, I am urging you to support and quickly schedule HB 1065, the prevention of tethering dogs. Chained dogs are most always the most neglected and abused "companion" animals of all. They are not one of the family, they are not usually fed every day, they usually do not have adequate clean, fresh water at all times, nor adequate, if any shelter and are exposed to weather extremes. They die from neglect. They routinely die of heartworms, a slow and miserable death because they are not typically taken to the vet for anything. They are simply "lawn ornaments" that eat and drink. Think about it - how would you feel to be totally isolated from any living being, hungry, thirsty, cold, overheated, and bored until you're insane, year after miserable year. No wonder they are more likely to bite; they are protecting the few square feet they have, and are not socialized. They do not know what love feels like. Animals feel emotion AND physical pain/discomfort. PLEASE help get this bill passed quickly, just like many, many progressive and compassionate cities and towns across America have done. Sincerely, STAPLES supports this: --- On Thu, 10/9/08, Rita Fazio <r.e.fazio wrote: Rita Fazio <r.e.fazio[AnimalsNeedUsNow] Action Alert -- Stop excessive tethering in PA"voicesforRahkim" <voicesforRahkim >Thursday, October 9, 2008, 11:52 PM - American Humane Association r.e.fazio (AT) worldnet (DOT) att.net Thursday, October 09, 2008 5:10 PM Action Alert -- Stop excessive tethering in PA October 2008 Help protect Pennsylvania' s dogs from excessive tetheringMake a difference today.
