Urge your Senator to vote YES!

Dear paul, In May of 2008, the House of Representatives passed The Great Cats and Rare Canids Act – which would provide much needed resources for the conservation of endangered rare cat and canine species around the world. This includes jaguars, snow leopards, cheetahs, African wild dogs, and many other iconic animals. Now the Senate must take action soon if the bill is to become law. Please take action today to save these animals from becoming extinct. In addition to the habitat loss, poaching, and environmental degradation that threatens wildlife worldwide, wild cat and canine species face an array of threats driven by humanity's long fascination with, and fear of, large carnivores.

Human-wildlife conflict, exploitation for skins and the medicinal trade, and persecution driven by mythology and misperception are devastating the world's wild cat and canine species. The Great Cats and Rare Canids Act is modelled after a highly successful conservation program that combines public funding with private donations to produce real, on-the-ground benefits for wildlife. The program is already working to save other wildlife species like Asian and African elephants, tigers, orangutans, sea turtles, and rhinos. Together we can make a difference for jaguars, leopards and African wild dogs and other imperiled cats and canines. Please contact your Senators and urge them to support the Great Cats and Rare Canids Act ( S. 1033), and vote yes when the

bill comes to the Senate floor.Thank you for taking action for the animals, Fred O'ReganPresident and CEO

Donations will be used where they are most needed to help animals.Worried about Donating online?I used to be too ... so I made sure our online system is safe, secure, and state-of-the-art. It also eliminates check-processing costs, so more money goes directly to saving animals. But if you prefer to donate by phone or mail, simply click here for address information.NOTE: To make sure you continue to receive further emails from IFAW, please add fred to your email address book.
