Hi Folks, Bea Shapiro is a good friend of my daughter Donna who are both into rescue and my friend as well. She took in 4 goats in desperate need of a good home; 3 of whom from Ellen. Now Ellen has saved 7 more goats from the auction block but desperately needs financial donations to help these precious animals. Anything you can do will be so much appreciated. Read below for full story and for contact information as to where to send a check. May God Bless You, and Huggs, Joy Ray A goat rescue in Washington state is taking ALL SEVEN!!! The rescue is run by Ellen, a friend of mine and an absolutely incredible rescue person. I never dreamed she'd be able to take them on but she's literally coming to the rescue, just in the nick of time! I got MY three rescue goats from her and I can tell you that her little farm is goaty heaven. She will probably keep the girls the rest of their lives. The boys will be neutered and adopted to wonderful homes. I will be driving the goats up there on Wednesday, along with my dear friend Donna. I am donating the cost of the U-Haul and the gas to get them to Arlington - about 300 miles each way. We may also pick up two or three other goats along the way. Ellen is getting many requests these days from people who can no longer afford to feed their animals. There are a few near Portland that need a ride to WA. If anybody would like to make a donation to Ellen's goat rescue, you can either give it to me before Wednesday or mail it to the address below. Ellen's rescue is NOT a 501c3 - she's just one woman doing this on her own. My goats came from a herd of 150 that were in really dire straits - a herd that she practically rescued single-handedly. So even if it's just $5, I know it would be HUGELY appreciated. Please make checks payable to:Ellen Felsenthal19111 Burn RoadArlington, WA 98223You can learn more about her rescue by going here:http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/WA310.html Time is running out for these beautiful little Oberhasli goats! There are two older females and five four-month-old boys - all healthy, affectionate, sweet and in desperate need of loving homes! They would all make wonderful pets! The girls have been dairy goats at a small, organic farm their whole lives. Ellie is 7 and Nestle is 10. They have been well cared for (and are in excellent health) but they are no longer "useful" to the dairy. Unless homes can be found, they will be sent to the auction block in just a couple of weeks. This will be a terrifying and very cruel way to end their lives - at their ages, they will only be bought for slaughter. Can you open your heart and home to these sweet, gentle girls? No adoption fee, but references and a home check will be required. Elle NestleThe five little male goats will be sent to auction on TUESDAY 9/9/08! They're purebred Oberhaslis, VERY friendly, playful and sweet. They would make lovely little pets. $100 adoption fee is REFUNDABLE upon proof of neutering. Below are three of the boys - they are all similar in coloring. Only requirements for adoption are a secure fence, ability to provide proper food and care and a commitment to keep them safe and happy the rest of their lives. You do not have to have owned goats before - they are not hard to care for and I will be provide all the advice and support I can! Looking for spoilers and reviews on the new TV season?
