Just when you think it doesn't get any worse with the USDA's corruption and deliberate danger to the public's food supply, now this:

According to the Wall Street Journal (Sat Aug 30 Page A-2), the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia has overturned a lower court decision compelling the USDA to allow a small beef producer in Kansas to test all of its cows for mad cow disease.

The USDA tests a small sample of US beef cattle for mad cow disease. But the Creekstone Farms Premium Beef company in Kansas wanted to test ALL of its cows AT ITS OWN EXPENSE. The USDA has prohibited them from doing so! The latest court decision affirms that the USDA is within their statutory authority to do this.

According to Wall Street Journal, "larger meat companies worry that if Creekstone is allowed to perform the test and advertise that its meat is safe, they could be forced to do the expensive testing, too."

This could of course lead either to more public concern about MCD, and could lead to the cost of testing being passed on to consumers.

But the consumers are NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO HAVE THE OPTION to pay a premium for tested meat.

What does this say about free enterprise in America? The safety of America's food supply? The credibility of the USDA to oversee the care, feeding, and treatment of livestock and the distribution of animal products?

GO VEGAN AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!
