Help Animals in EU Laboratories Today

Dear Jill, More than 12 million animals suffer and die in research and testing laboratories across the European Union every year, yet many are denied even minimal protection under EU law.New legislation to protect animals in European Union laboratories is desperately needed. The existing Directive is outdated and fails to offer any protection at all to hundreds of thousands of animals. The European Commission has been promising new legislation for years, but the proposal has been blocked by the EU Commissioner for Research, Janez Potocnik.Further delays will cost lives and cause animal suffering. Your FOUR PAWS team Support FOUR PAWS’ urgent action to call to help animals in laboratories.

FOUR PAWS Olympic Campaign Firstly we would like to thank the 20000 people from several countries who have already signed our petition. This is an impressive number. However, our goal is to double the number of signatures by the end of the Olympic Games, which begin on the 8th of August. The more signatures we have, the more pressure we can put on retailers to reduce the level of barbaric animal cruelty in China. We would therefore ask that you pass the petition link http://www.four-paws.org/olympics2008 or this newsletter on to friends and family who might be interested in helping us achieve our goal.Go to online petition...
