In particular, the process entailed the removal of these residues with the passing of water droplets through the fuel. However, in some generic use of the term "washing biodiesel" the term "washing" has become simply the process of removing the residues by any means that accomplishes the task, hence dividing the washing techniques to water washing and water-free (also termed Dry) washing. The use of water-free washing in both batch and continuous commercial operations however requires a thorough understanding of the underpinning sciences, as is elucidated. Read more...
