CROSSPOSTING (especially to cat groups!) is greatly appreciated!

Okay, it's DESPERATION time again at the Ashtabula APL. They are currently housing over 250 animals in a shelter that was only built to house 48 dogs. With NO air conditioning. WE NEED RESCUE / FOSTER HELP DESPERATELY . Sixty or more cats are in IMMEDIATE DANGER ...this situation is TRULY URGENT! THEY WILL BE KILLED if we can't get them out RIGHT AWAY!This is a shelter that

aspires to be no-kill, and truly does have the best interests of the animals at heart. But it is the only animal shelter in the largest county in Ohio, in a very poor, rural area. They have to take in every animal the city and county dog wardens bring them...this can be hundreds of dogs in a month. And people dump cats and kittens there almost every day. When numbers get up, as they are now, THEY HAVE TO KILL if we can't get the animals out.Right now there is a special crisis for cats. The number of cats they are housing is well over double what they like to keep the numbers at. And more come in every day! They currently have approximately 180 cats!The APL is *very* rescue friendly. Right now they will allow fully vetted cats to go to approved rescues for just a DONATION. ANY AMOUNT! They just want to move cats so that they don't

have to euthanize them!Please look at the available cats and kittens below. Cats will die if we can't get some out right away. If you see anyone you are interested in, contact Ashtabula Animal Advocates at ashtabulaanimaladvo cates (AT) gmail (DOT) com (gmail.com). We can get you all the

information you need on an animal, test for dog friendliness, cat friendliness, kid friendliness, can take more pictures, can take the animals for a ride in the car to see how they do, really whatever you require.We are also looking for foster homes for cats and kittens, especially homes that can foster litters of kittens until they are spayed/neutered. It really helps them to stay healthy to keep them out of the shelter.(And hey, WE HAVE DOGS, TOO! Like 100+ of them!)
