but the EuropeanUnion's environment commissioner has indicated it will focus on prohibitingproducts from seals that have been killed inhumanely.Any legislation would have to be unanimously approved by the EU's 27commissioners.It would then go to the European Parliament and the EU presidency, France,to decide how to proceed with the matter.Canada's commercial seal hunters say there should be no ban because the huntis sustainable and humane, but animal welfare groups vehemently disputethat.
