Guest guest
GB-Analysts Reports: New and Update Articles Situation Analysis: Bioprocess for Microbes Immobilization The incorporation of microbes immobilization technology into a biotechnology process is essential for smooth operation, if core bioreactor of such bioprocess is of the heterogeneous design and the mode of operation is either continuous or semi-continuous. This is so for the simple reason of minimizing operation interruption. Immobilization by method of entrapment of S. cerevisiae was suggested for producing the immobilized microbes beads - using the method validated in the experimental studies of the Immobilized Cells Reactor, ICR - in the analysis of heterogeneous bioreactors: multi-packed bed bioreactor and stirred heterogeneous bioreactor. In effect then, any bioprocess adopting either of these bioreactors may have to also incorporate the microbes immobilization produce by which the beads were produced. Read more...
