Here is the Dallas city code that every activist should have a copy of at a protest in case the uniforms become uh, pesky. The laws are basically the same anywhere, public property is public property. Make a few copies, cut them up and put them somewhere you'll have them when you go to a demo. SEC. 7A-10. THROWING, DISTRIBUTING, ETC., HANDBILLS IN PUBLIC PLACES. No person shall throw or deposit any commercial or noncommercial handbill in or upon any sidewalk, street or other public place within the city; nor shall any person hand out or distribute or sell any commercial handbill in any public place. It shall not be unlawful on any sidewalk, street or other public place within the city for any person to hand out or distribute, without charge to the receiver
