Guest guest Posted June 4, 2008 Report Share Posted June 4, 2008 Animal rights groups are stepping up their efforts to rid the city ofthe horse-drawn carriages.Their latest weapon is Blinders a documentary that chronicles theliving and working conditions of carriage horses in traffic-cloggedManhattan, and makes the point that the city is no place for theanimals.People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals will host a screening ofthe 52-minute film that will be hosted by Alec Baldwin at LincolnCenter on June 18. The showing will be open to members of the mediaand the City Council, which PETA hopes will consider legislation toban horse-drawn carriages.
