He has beendeported.Federal authorities sent Cruz, a Mexican national who had been livingin Plainville for years, back to Mexico on May 15, Senior SupervisoryAssistant State's Attorney Stephen Preleski said.Cruz still faces two animal cruelty charges, one a felony and one amisdemeanor. The court on Thursday issued a rearrest warrant so thatif he returns to the United States and is stopped by police, he'll betaken into custody, Preleski said.Cruz, 32, is accused of repeatedly stabbing his brother's pet pit bullin the head with an electric drill in January after learning the doghad bitten his son.
