CFD Chairman Caught Playing the Media Among the many people that SHARK personally invited to the press conference in Cheyenne, CFD officials were, of course, included. In a Wyoming-Tribune Eagle article, Charlie West, CFD's general chairman, said "someone from his organization will be at the

conference. He added that he hopes for an open conversation about the two sides of the issue." Mr. West then went on the attack to accuse SHARK of deliberately trying to skew the conference and keep CFD people out. The article states: "He [West] added that he is skeptical about the motives of SHARK scheduling the meeting during the middle of the day on a weekday. Most CFD volunteers have jobs and can't leave for two hours."That might have been done purposely," he said." However, SHARK was later alerted that Mr. West's statement was disingenuous. At the same time that this chairman has said he "hopes for open conversation" and is whining to the press that it will be difficult for CFD volunteers to attend, he is putting out a notice to CFD staff that no one is to attend the press conference! A former CFD volunteer relayed that CFD Chairman West had a message sent prior to the press conference stating that: "Cheyenne Frontier Days Staff, General Committee and Board members will not attend or participate in this press conference." Typical two-faced rodeo tactic. If you have ever wondered what these computer cowboys look like, wait no more. Here is your chance to meet one of them. Rodeo Eddie, as we call him, responded to one of SHARK's Horse Shocking videos on YouTube by sending us a video of his own. Click here to see Rodeo Eddie. Be warned that the video contains obscenities, racism, and homophobia. And inexplicably, he doesn't like the Toyota Prius either. Rodeo Eddie Sadly, in our experience, Eddie is pretty typical of the average rodeo supporter. What are rodeo sponsors thinking? Southwest Airlines wants Eddie as a customer so badly they will pay big money to support rodeos? Dodge is so desperate to sell trucks that they are going after the Rodeo Eddie demographic? We already knew that corporations like Coke are willing to lie about their rodeo sponsorship in order to sidestep their own

corporate rules, but now we can see who they are so desperately trying to get to drink their products and it isn't a pretty picture. Tiger Truck Hits Cheyenne, WY On the way to the Confronting Cruelty Conference in Salt Lake City, UT, the Tiger Truck stopped in Cheyenne on April 23. The Tiger showed the rest of Cheyenne the same video footage from CFD that was shown at the press conference the week before. Prowling the streets of downtown Cheyenne, the mall area and outside a concert, the Tiger reached thousands. While the crowd reaction was a mix of "thumbs-up" and "the

finger", there was more "thumbs-up"! You can see more photos and video of the Tiger in action HERE. Former CFD

Volunteer and Participant Sends a Plea to Cheyenne! Stephanie Beeken is a "hometown girl". She was her class Valedictorian, and is now a loving mother of four. The Cheyenne Frontier Days was a big part of her life and Stephanie was a participant and volunteer. After seeing SHARK's videos

and pictures of the cruelty and corruption at CFD, her respect has been eroded and replaced by disgust, regret, and sadness for her town. In stark contrast to Rodeo Eddie, read what a brave and honest woman has to say to help the City of Cheyenne here: More Trouble For Cheyenne Supposed "Family Event" Promotes Drug Use While tobacco companies still have people like Rodeo Eddie as customers, they are having more and more trouble getting people addicted to their drugs in order to replace the folks their products kill. Over 390 sensible communities across the nation have told these companies that they are not welcome to come in and handout their products in their city. The tobacco companies, like the drug dealers they are, long ago realized that the best way to get adults and kids addicted is to give away their products for free. Tobacco area (U.S. Smokeless, Copenhagen & Skoal) at CFD Rodeo. Last week, the Greeley Rodeo showed some small measure of integrity by standing up to the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company. They told them they are not welcome to

give away free drugs at their rodeo. U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company's response? They showed how much rodeo and the kids really mean to them by withdrawing a $200,000 sponsorship from the Greeley Stampede rodeo. Now the Wyoming Department of Health has raised concerns over the tobacco companies that sponsor Cheyenne Frontier Days. Members of the CFD committee were asked to consider a review of current policies and youth access to these substances. The department also offered to pay for an assessment. But CFD's executive director rejected the offer. Read the article here This will be a very interesting story to follow. Will Cheyenne show the same integrity that the Greeley Rodeo showed or will they trade in their children's health for a little drug money? We will see. learned to live well ourselves." - Cesar Chavez, civil rights and labor leader, founder of the United Farm Workers http://pets.Fortheanimals7/join http://www.myspace.com/fortheanimals7
