Yeee haw! Mon, April 28, 2008 Rodeo grandstand in western Alberta town hit by suspicious fireUPDATED: 2008-04-28 16:15:18 MST ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE, Alta. — RCMP are investigating what they call a suspicious fire that severely damaged a rodeo grandstand in west-central Alberta that had undergone an extensive renovation. No one was hurt in the blaze that broke out Sunday in Rocky Mountain House, about 200 kilometres southwest of Edmonton. It took firefighters from the community and nearby Leslieville about two hours to put out the flames. Regional fire Chief Cammie Laird says it appears the fire was the result of mischief or vandalism, and that

portions of the grandstand will have to be rebuilt. Rocky Mountain House Mayor Jim Bague says he feels bad for volunteers who put so much work into the facility. Officials say the annual rodeo — scheduled for the first weekend in June this year — will still go ahead. (CKGY) By THE CANADIAN
