It'scool to be a vegetarian, even if the dominant parking lot smells arestill those of sizzling beef or pork.Rowe expects that meat-eaters may even be eyeing her grill thisseason, curious about the foods that fuel the All-Star first baseman.One advantage of tailgating with vegetables and meat substitutes isthat you don't have to wait for them to reach a safe temperature, asyou do with meat, said Autumn Faughn, marketing and communityrelations specialist for Whole Foods.Diana Sieger, who does brand and store development for Outpost,agreed. "You get your food faster because all you have to do is heatit up on the grill," she said...."Some people may find it shocking that an athlete can sustain himselfon a vegetarian diet," said Rowe, who works for Outpost Natural Foodsin merchandising and promotions.Meat eaters often wonder how vegetarians avoid feeling constanthunger, said Molly Malone, who is vegetarian and an in-store educatorat Whole Foods."When you first make the transition, you do have to figure out how toget protein and density so you're full," Malone said.
