NorCal Equine Rescue ~ www.SaveTheHorse.com We are working to rescue 17 horses. 16 quarter/pony crosses and 1 BLM mustang. Their owner’s property is in the final stages of foreclosure. This "backyard breeder" was going to send them to the feedlot, but we were able to negotiate a two week "stay" for them, as

long as we provide feed. If we do not ransom them by 3/28/08, they will be taken to the feedlot, and then on to the Mexican slaughter house. There are studs, pregnant mares and youngsters (6 mo > 2-3 yrs). They are all friendly, but most are likely untrained. At 13-14 hands, some might make nice 4-H or children’s riding projects. The owner wants $275 each for them. At this point we do not have transport costs, as their placement is in progress. We have until 6pm on March 28th to raise all the necessary funds. We Can't Do It Without You! Please help us give them a new lease on life!!Thank You!!! The 9 horses have been transported from the breeder in North Dakota to their layover in Texas. We are short on transportation funds, five of the nine horses are coming to CA, another $1,875 (1500+ miles). We have $730 of the transportation fund to get them to the CA rescues, but still need $1145. If you can help with this need please click here and
