This should be outlawed in EVERY state! How CRUEL! Lawmakers support ban on rodeo events Associated Press - March 13, 2008 2:35 PM ET LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Some events that occur at Mexican-style rodeos could soon be banned. The Legislature gave first-round approval to a bill (LB764) that would ban horse-tripping and steer-tailing. In horse-tripping, a cowboy lassos the front or back feet of a running horse. The measure from Senator Abbie Cornett of Bellevue would also ban the same practice on oxen and bison. In steer-tailing, a mounted cowboy grabs a running steer's tail. Then the cowboy wraps the tail around his leg or stirrup and pulls

the steer to the ground. The bill also would outlaw the event with ponies, donkeys, mules and llamas. The Omaha City Council last year barred both practices from Mexican rodeos held in the city.
