IUCN,

WWF and Nokia launch connect2earth.org, a green community for young people

 

On March 4th, IUCN launched with WWF and Nokia a global initiative

towards young people called connect2earth.

 

www.connect2earth.org

is a community website that will give young people a platform to share their ideas and concerns about environmental issues

through their own videos, image or text. It is also a competition

culminating in the presentation of the winner’s video, text or images to

world leaders at IUCN's World Conservation Congress in Barcelona this October2008.

 

www.connect2earth.org will

allow us to reach new audiences, especially millions of young people from 13-35

years of age. It is a great platform to

empower young people to be more environmentally aware and involved in what we

do.

 

We need your help to galvanize this movement and spread the word! Pass the information to your

networks that target young people? by e-mail,, web forums or networks on

FaceBook, MySpace etc. They can be IUCN networks, social networks, university

networks, film school networks etc ? anything that reaches out to young people.
