Does a Duck Have a Soul? - http://nymag.com/nymetro/food/features/12071/index2.html

““There is a certain amount of cruelty in killing an animal to eat,” she says, “but there is also a certain amount of cruelty to pull a leek or carrot out of the earth to eat! Foie gras - this is the easy target.” - OK Ariane great logic there!

“If these people wanted to start in the right place, they would outlaw the slaughter of cows in a kosher way, which they could never do here. The one time I saw a cow slaughtered that way, seeing it bleed for two hours, this was the one time I had to go outside and vomit.” - I love how proponents of animal cruelty always tell people to look at some other industry where animals are being treated cruelty in an attempt to make there's seem humane. How pathetic and sad.

One of the most ridiculous things that carnivores argue about is that

plants have feelings. They don't have a central nervous system, and

are grown for a purpose. What you get in response to saying that is

usually, " Animals are here for a purpose, too. " As if to justify

using and/or eating animal products. Just be glad if have half a mind

to do the right thing, and live cruelty-free!
