Once again, NC animal control facilities achieve the ultimate brutality to the animals in their care. We need phone calls, emails, letters to everyone on the list below. This facility has been offered help and equipment and rescue offers of adoptions of their animals and THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED. They refuse help-will not answer rescues phone calls- so let everyone send them a deluge of contacts in every form until they can no longer resist the changes that must be made in that facility. Demand that the position of animal control manager be filled by a person who will do their job and answer the phones and work with rescues. They throw the animals in the truck-turn on the gas-kill them- dump them at the land fill...all easy for them....!!!!! Collect their pay check from the PUBLIC TAX PAYERS AND GO HOME AND ENJOY LIFE. We have rallied together in the past and made effective changes in facilities. The more we contact them and the longer we contact them to the point that they know we are not going away without changes the better! FACILITY. THE PROTOCOL AT THIS DEATH CHAMBER IS THAT IT IS EASIER TO KILL ALL THE ANIMALS THAN TO DO THEIR JOB AND ASSIST THE ANIMALS WITH HUMANE TREATMENT, ADOPTIONS AND HUMANE EUTHANASIA. Several rescue groups have met with the county manager at this death row. He didn't seem open to suggestions. They are breaking several laws and nothing is being done about it. Have you seen the pics of their dump truck gas chamber? And anyone should be able to call to ask what new pets have come in, on days when pictures are not taken, or to ask questions about anything else. It's part of their job to answer the phone at a public shelter. If you want the

management to change, they need to keep getting pressure from the public. GET THIS: THESE PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO WORK WITH RESCUES BECAUSE “THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE BOTHERED ANSWERING THE PHONES”. People have a right to call the shelter if they want to, and new pets come in every day that would not be in the weekly pictures. Volunteers are only allowed to take 2 pictures a week SOMETIMES...when SARA SCHUMATE will allow it. I understand that the local people are being careful, but anyone can call there and ask questions, and they should. If the pressure is not kept on the manager, changes will not be made and animals will keep being treated badly---no vet care, awful conditions, a cruel death.
