The BPA Vita-Mix container is fairly new and as of last year, Blendtec has a BPA-free container too. See this link. Neither BPA container was available when we purchased our Vita-Mix and Blendtec. Honestly I have more going on in my life than to worry about a one minute or less exposure to BPA. I use glass or stainless steel to store my food. I rarely used canned products rather I strive to make everything from scratch. I cook with glass, stainless steal or cast iron. Given a choice in the future, yes, that may sway a decision. But I'm certainly not going to through out a perfectly good Blendtec. I know you were addressing your post more to Marla but just had to chirp in my two-cents worth

since you answered in response to my post. Martha martha williams <mjwd444 Sent: Wed, March 3, 2010 11:58:55 AMRe: Hi Everyone!

FYI - Just looked at the websites of both Blendtec and Vitamix. Important: Vitamix containers have NO BPA (this is good!). Blendtecprovides several quite out-o-date papers defending BPA - in other words they are still using polycarbonate which is made with BPA.

There is no question that if I were purchasing a "super blender", that I would avoid the one with BPA and I would (and plan to) get the Vitamix. Martha Williams
