" Pure vegans, " a term I read on-line, don't eat honey, either. They'll

use molasses, corn syrup, or the agave syrup that's all over the place

now. If it's made by animals they don't eat it.

I have used brown rice syrup in the past. I just read some really negative things about agave, coincidentally, so it looks like I might be using more brown rice syrup in the future. Marilyn

I won’t do it – told him from the beginning he’s welcome to keep eating meat but he’ll have to cook it. I don’t even like touching it. So he does — whenever he wants meat he cooks it. What happened over time is he started to get tired of cooking his own meals all the time (and working around me in the kitchen as I made mine) so as I heard him grumble yet again I’d say something like “you’re welcome to try some of what I’m making” -- and he said OK. And he didn’t mind it. He doesn’t always eat what I’m making, sometimes he will still prefer to cook something else. But there are a lot of times he couldn’t be bothered to make something else so he eats what I cook. And he’s come to realize he doesn’t mind tofu – it was true what I said, that it had no flavor of its own and takes on whatever flavors you add. So he’ll eat it! In fact one of the meals he LOVES and asks me to make over and over again are scrambled burritos – I use tofu in place of eggs, and vegetarian sausage, onion, bell pepper, sometimes mushrooms, etc. rolled in a tortilla and topped with salsa. YUM! Now he will add cheese and sour cream to his — and that’s fine. We’re still eating the same meal. :)

I am finding it harder and harder to cook animal products the longer I am vegan.

It is increasingly difficult to buy them at all. I am the primary shopper and

cook in the house. Spouse is unconvertable at this point. He dislikes legumes

and is picky about vegetables. He is a meat and potatoes person. He also doesn't

cook for himself. If I don't cook, he doesn't eat " real meals " . He doesn't like

the texture of vegan meats either.

Thank you for the link, Mary. The video looks great.

There is a bit of it on YouTube too;
