Guest guest
I agree with Susan that it's not something to eat too often, particularly if it's not whole grain-based. Amazing how what we were served as children turns into emotional comfort food later in life. Mark
Guest guest
I think that's exactly WHY it's "comfort food"--it brings back positive childhood memories. One of my favorite comfort meals (which I haven't had in years but I'm not saying "never"), is hot tea, sweetened with sugar and loaded with cream, along with Italian bread, toasted, with real butter melting on top. Reminds me of my father taking care of me when I was sick. I can remember lying on the living room couch, and him setting up the tray table for me, and giving this to me when I was small. Memories are VERY powerful. Marilyn Amazing how what we were served as children turns into emotional comfort food later in life.
