Guest guest
01/13/10:"Today’s Menu:Breakfast: Cereal with FruitLunch: Kickstart DIY | Mock-Meat SandwichSnack: Garbanzo GuacamoleDinner: Vegetarian Swiss Steak"Mock-meat in two meals for two days in a row as centerpiece? Nahhh..... imho, unimaginative, and boring. Vegetables for the day? Small amount of peppers (2 for 8 1/2 cup servings), mushrooms, tomatoes, and avocado.Harding "eating a rainbow." No salads, steamed/roasted veggies. A lot protein focus (beans, mock meat, seitan) for the day and it just hits me wrong. At least there's some fruit. This "menu" unless supplemented seems to meet very little of the Feds recommendations on any aspect of daily nutrition.Irony is, the "Healthy Breakfast/Lunch, etc. Idea" links are far superior than the suggested menu and actually quite good (although I don't like seeing "for extra protein" suggestions... promotes the old protein myth). That being said, I'm not going to mention much more about my own thoughts on the List, as the're off-topic and probably redundant! I'll probably give PCRM a summary when the program is over as they might be even more receptive when not working so hard during the effort.Am glad that they are doing this, but I think they can do even better!FYI, Mark
