Sorry, I gave some wrong information here. The China Study is by T. Colin Campbell. In his study (long term and large and scientifically valid) he proves that high protein promotes the growth of cancers.

Esseltyn wrote Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease and has amazing no fat vegan recipes in it. This book is our bible.

Dear Tom,

My husband has prostate cancer. Now, he has an almost no fat vegan lifestyle. Switched from a junk food SAD diet overnight and has stayed healthy for the last 3 years. His father has lived with prostate cancer for the last 15 years with no treatment other than initial surgery. The doctors are telling him he needs chemo to stay alive and have been telling him this for the last fifteen years. Still no chemo and still alive.

You have absolutely NOT received a death sentence.

I would also suggest reading some books like Diet for a New America by Tom Robbins and The China Study by T. Caldwell Esseltyn, M.D. I think these books will give you the background and the good medical science to stick with a healthy almost no fat vegan diet. Also, I heard from Dr. Michael Klaper the other night whom I questioned personally about prostate cancer that Dr. Dean Ornish, the M.D. who took on heart disease has now taken on prostate cancer and doing some good research there. You might also check out Joel Fuhrman, M.D. He is so open to helping people cure cancer and heart disease and lots of other medical issues with a high nutrient vegan diet that he would probably talk to you personally. He's located in Massachusetts I believe, but has a wonderful website: www.drfuhrman.com.

I've also heard that there is a doctor in Arizona who is doing fabulous work with a high nutrient vegan diet for cancer, too, (huge amounts of fresh juices several times a day) but I don't know his name. I'll try to find it.

Stay close, Tom. Let us support you. Right now you and your health are absolutely the most important issues.

Ok Guys,

I never post and am an avid reader of your group. Have been trying unsuccessfully to become vegan. You have helped migrate toward veggies and fruit but but am not there yet.

It all of a sudden has become extremely urgent and important. Prostrate cancer has jumped back into my life with no cure left only ways to slow it down. So I began looking up anti cancer foods and guess what they are all vegan with a large emphasis to eat food that are anti bacterial as well. Oh bone health is imp too.

Suggestions, cookbook that HAS SOME SCIENTIFIC VALIDITY in affecting cancer or related prostrate/lymph systems. I really need to like it as well to stay on the life food plan.

Please your input may prolong and make the quality of what is left of my life better.

Sincerely and Thanks,

Tom W.

PS Help me get more than 4 or 5 quality years on this earth!
