To get that coconut flavor I wonder if you could try the tiniest splash of coconut water. I cannot remember the fat content of it though. I don't mean the cream or milk in cans, I have seen a waterier beverage called coconut water in some Asian stores which is supposed to be from young coconut.-Erin________________________________"marylizzy (AT) aol (DOT) com" <marylizzy (AT) aol (DOT) com> Sent: Sat, October 10, 2009 5:22:57 PMRe: GREEN SMOOTHIE TIMEWow! Erin, They are also now selling coconut water at Whole Foods.? You have to be careful though.? The kind that is merely the water from inside a coconut comes in a silver paper container.? It's in the section with the refrigerated drinks.? There is another coconut water sold in a can that has added stuff we don't want.Maryerin riley <rileysoprano > Sent: Sat, Oct 10, 2009 7:25 pmRe: GREEN SMOOTHIE TIMETo get that coconut flavor I wonder if you could try the tiniest splash of coconut water. Hello,Thanks for your suggestion. Can you tell me if there is anyway to dry or freeze the greens to use as tea at a later time?Stephanie________________________________ttbeachbum <ttbeachbum > Sent: Tue, October 6, 2009 10:43:42 AM Re: Fennel PlantsI love to grill the bulbs along with other veggies (such as zucchini and summer squash etc. I also like to add the tops (greens and seeds) diced/minced into tomato sauce. You can also steep the greens and seeds in hot water for tea which helps digestion., Stephanie Faith <stephaniefaith94@ ...> wrote:>> Hello Group,> > Does anyone has any suggestions on what I can do with two huge fennel bulbs and tops? Erin,Thanks so much! I have several bulbs ready to pull and I am going to try all of the wonderful suggestions.Stephanie________________________________Erin <mattstill4ever > Sent: Tue, October 6, 2009 10:12:25 AM Re: Fennel Plantstrim & slice into quarters & blanch (rolling boil for about a minute). Thereafter, it depends what you're trying to achieve. If you want to preserve the "raw" fennel you could let it cool and freeze it as is. If you would prefer to have cooked fennel in jars for nibbling on without furhter cooking, I'd suggest that, after blanching, you pat dry, brush with olive oil, toss in salt & pepper and then chargrill (using a ribbed grill pan to produce seared lines on the flesh). Stop cooking while still very al dente, Leave to cool down entirely than store under oil in a jar with a proper rubber seal. The grilling will make the end product look ( & taste) good, and the fennel will be fully cooked and ideal when eaten as part of an an antipasti plate. If I were doing it, I'd lace the oil liberally with bashed fennel seeds, peppercorns and a pinch of dried chilli flakes too - fennel eaten on its own can be a bit bland and benefits from a bit of help., Stephanie Faith <stephaniefaith94@ ...> wrote:>> Hello Group,> > Does anyone has any suggestions on what I can do with two huge fennel bulbs and tops? Another satisfying breakfast drink:

8 oz. tofu

1/2 cup rolled oats, uncooked

6 oz. frozen strawberries (or combination frozen strawberries and banana)

8 oz. nonfat non-dairy milk

Mix all together well in blender. Can also add sweetener if not sweet enough for

you. This is like a milk shake (a healthy one) as frozen strawberries act like

ice cubes...drink is thick, creamy and nice and cold. I've also used frozen

blueberries for the fruit and that's yummy too.
