Guest guest Posted November 21, 2003 Report Share Posted November 21, 2003 the tofu is probably fried. this is how i fry tofu: first i slice extra firm tofu and lay the slices on paper towels. then i take another paper towel and blot the tofu to remove as much moisture as possible. then i fry in hot oil until golden. you can also roll the tofu in cornstarch, flour, kudzu powder, or arrowroot powder after slicing, shake off the excess, and then fry it in the hot oil. this will make the tofu a little crunchier and crisper. just a note: mori-nu brand tofu (the shelf stable kind) does not fry well at all. use the refrigerated kind. good luck, susie --- Kelly <kheli wrote: > I am curious if anyone has some great techniques for > cooking Tofu. > Whenever I order Thai food (My Favorite!) the tofu > has such great > texture.
