Guest guest
I'd read about the product a few weeks ago, noticed that there was a nutritional analysis on the website for Daiya's products, but nothing about the ingredients, so I filled out a " contact us " form and asked for a breakdown of what's in it. They got back to me a few days later. Not good. It's essentially fat. Here's the the post of note that I made concerning Daiya Cheese and what's in it (as well as a link in this post to the original post venting about the nutritional analysis): http://soulveggie.blogs.com/my_weblog/2009/04/daiya-responds-re-vegan-cheeses-in\ gredients.html Bottom line: as far as I can tell, all the major vegan faux cheeses are mostly added oil, and often have a higher fat content then the equivalent of, yup, whole cow's milk cheeses. Something to be avoided if you want to be a no-added fat vegan. If nothing else, it's certainly not a miracle by and stretch of the nutritional imagination.
