Miraculous Velveta-like Cheese Sub Daiya

I'd read about the product a few weeks ago, noticed that there was a nutritional

analysis on the website for Daiya's products, but nothing about the ingredients,

so I filled out a " contact us " form and asked for a breakdown of what's in it.

They got back to me a few days later.

 

Not good. It's essentially fat.

Bottom line: as far as I can tell, all the major vegan faux cheeses are mostly

added oil, and often have a higher fat content then the equivalent of, yup,

whole cow's milk cheeses.

 

Something to be avoided if you want to be a no-added fat vegan.

 

If nothing else, it's certainly not a miracle by and stretch of the nutritional

imagination.
