Guest guest
1 TBL of olive oil is around 12 to 14 grams of fat. 2 avocados: 70 grams of fat Personally, I think the avocado is more problematic here, although it's not clear how many servings are created. Maybe 6 to 8? That's still 2/3 to 1/2 a day's recommended total fat per serving (not counting relatively minor amount of fat in beans) by McDougall, Esselstyn, etc. Something to consider! Guest guest
I don't know what I would do without an occasional avocado and/or some nuts and cashew milk. The operative word is OCCASIONAL. But I know some die-hards who say that anything "natural" like an avocado is not harmful no matter that it has fat - that the body does not use the fat the same as free-standing fats added into foods. I still think we have a long way to go to understand the human body and nutrition but no one is taking my avocados away, even if I, too, have to lose 80 pounds!JTOn Mar 22, 2009, at 12:42 PM, Mark Sutton wrote:1 TBL of olive oil is around 12 to 14 grams of fat.2 avocados: 70 grams of fatPersonally, I think the avocado is more problematic here, although it's not clear how many servings are created.
