Guest guest
Did y'all peek at the tiny list of sauces on here? Stir fry is nice and all but if I'm going to make that carniverous husband think he's doing the right thing by not complaining, I'm going to have to dress stuff up with yummy sauces and all. If anyone has good recipes please share! Thanks everyone! ~Marilyn
Guest guest
Hi Marilyn I did the catering for a Green Party conference here in Auckland last year - all the food was vegan, and at least two-thirds of the attendees were omnivores, with the rest being mostly vegetarians - just a few vegans! They all really loved the sauces I made. Most aren't suitable for a fatfree list (involving tahini, coconut cream, cashews, etc). But I have made a nice 'creamy' and fatfree sauce from a can of white beans blended with a can of tomatoes, plus plenty of seasonings. Try it! Also split peas, cooked really thoroughly and then pureed, make a lovely silky sauce (even silkier if you add coconut cream...). Root veges such as carrots and sweet potatoes can be made into fatfree sauces too. Best wishes Alice On 02/03/2009, at 7:45 AM, Marilyn wrote: > Did y'all peek at the tiny list of sauces on here?
