Also, avoiding dairyproducts may alleviate sinus pressure/allergic responses for somepeople. Guest guest
Hi Maureen, I make a lot of cakes that are fat-free, but only rarely make them sugar-free too. The one exception is my Sugar-Free Coconut Chai Breakfast Cake: http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2006/04/sugar-free-coconut-chai-breakfast-cake.html . It has a little fat because of the coconut, but not a huge amount. You could leave it out and substitute a little oatmeal, if you like. Just on the subject of cakes, my very favorite fat-free one is this Chocolate-Orange Cake: http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2007/12/chocolate-orange-cake.html . It's not sugar-free, but it's great for a special occasion. It doesn't taste fat-free at all. Guest guest
the trick is, don't tell them its splenda. (men i mean) although it is better texture and taste-wise if you use half sugar and half splenda. i always use applesauce in place of oil and some of the sugar as well. , " Carolyn " <storm20 wrote: > > people put far to much sugar in there Cake etc, I only put in`1/4 of a cup if that, you can use the splender, I like that hubby say it tastes funny
Guest guest
I avoid saccharin, including Splenda. I know there's a lot of debate on whether it's actually dangerous to consume - but personally I feel safer with sugar! My husband uses xylitol as a sugar substitute - but it's difficult to use successfully in baking, I've found.CheersaliceOn 03/01/2009, at 2:09 AM, estrellas.seven wrote:the trick is, don't tell them its splenda.
