Guest guest
Hi all, Well, I am finally ready to invest in a bread machine - and the user ratings/reviews for many of the models are a little scary! I thought I would look to this great group to see what models you might have and recommend. Thanks for your help! Liese
Guest guest
Liese, I've had a Regal Kitchen Pro for about ten years. It's been a good machine for me. It makes 1 1/2 and 2 pound loaves. I haven't used it regularly all this time. We go in spurts about eating bread. But I've never had a problem with it. One tip is too stay close by to check the dough during the first kneading. I've found that as long as the dough is the right consistency, neither too dry nor too moist, I get great results. I have the option to start with a timer when I'm not around, but I don't think I'd trust the results of a batch that I can't be there to supervise the dough consistency.Hope I've addressed any questions you have. That's how I feel about my Oster. As long as I'm there to scrape down the sides and add flour or water as necessary, it makes nice bread. The 1 or 1 1/2 pound loaf I choose (it makes up to 3 pound, I think) is perfect for my husband and myself for 2 meals, and I like its horizontal shaped loaves, as opposed to my old Breadman that made vertical loaves. This is my second Oster machine, as I wore out the first one 8 years ago. My first machine was a Breadman, way back in the 1980's when ABM's were still a new toy. Although the bread it made great bread, it shimmied so much it shook itself off the table and onto the floor. I read that the company fixed that problem and they no longer wiggle that much, so when I'm ready for another machine I might go back to Breadman. But if I can afford it, I would go with the Zo - Zojirushi brand. I've read that they're the most reliable and comes with the most bells and whistles. I've never read, in all the years on various bread machine lists, of one complaint about these machines. Sue in NJ
