Guest guest
Congratulations to the Philadelphia Phillies on making it into the World Series! Their very veggie ballpark has been a hit with many baseball fans. Check these media mentions:On Oct.9, the Philadelphia Daily News ran a front page feature story, "Venue Vegan; Phillies Citizens Bank Park finds a winning combo with meatless menu." Guest guest
DON’T BELIEVE IT! Unfortunately, if you go to the Phillies ball park, you can’t find any good veggie options. They’re talked about and written about, but they don’t actually exist. I’ve been to several games and I’ve had difficulty finding anything to eat every time. ~ Kristin
Guest guest
It is so neat to see places attempting to meet the needs of vegetarians & vegans. Thanks for sharing the links! Kristin, as I was looking through the various links, I noticed it appears the vegetarian & vegan options are only sold in some food stands at the stadium. Here's a piece I pulled up with some information on where these items are sold. Hope this helps http://soyhappy.org/venue.htm#Phillies " Vegetarian food available: 2008 UpdateTHEY SELL VEGGIE DOGS! They are selling Lightlife's Smart dogs. These veggie dogs are vegan, certified kosher and nonGMO! Flame grilled Gardenburgers are also offered at this stadium. BOTH ITEMS ARE VEGAN. The veggie burgers will be located in South Philly Market locations-sections 128, 206, and 318. The veggie dogs are also in the South Philly Market location- section 128. Check out the many vegetarian and vegan options now available at Rick's Steaks and Planet Hoagie on Ashburn Alley! Guest guest
I looked for them at CBP too and could find them. The only thing I was able to find was the sub shop there that would make an expensive vegetable sub. I had to forego the no oil as I'm sure the bun had oil in it. I'm really haveing some worries about the Giant Center where I have season tickets for hockey. We've been discussing what we can eat there and honestly there is not much. So it will be a challenge. Anyone have any ideas for maneuvering such events? Timothy "The brick walls are there for a reason. Guest guest
Oh yes, lots of people at the park tell you where to go for those great veggie options but when you get there…. Blank stares from the people working there. They have no idea what you are talking about. Trust me, I’ve spent hours wandering through the concessions in that park… ~ Kristin
