Guest guest
Gawd, I hate to dump on good organizations, but I just read a recommended vegan recipe from FARM for their " Meatless Mondays " Newsletter. It was for a Nacho Cheese Sauce. Aside from the added fat (mentioned clearly in my blog post), I was amazed at the 2 oz. of agar flakes (around $12, online retail) and cashews (around $5, estimated). We're talking about an extremely high fat vegan nacho cheese that probably comes in at just under $20 in total cost. Ridiculous. Absolutely absurd. $20 for maybe four servings of a " vegan nacho cheese sauce? " Yaarrrghhhh...... But then, I've little tolerance for many " high-end " vegan recipes that use such expensive ingredients. IMHO, it shows either ignorance of what can be done cheaper, or an inability to comprehend " why " that would be a good idea in general. Blogged about it at: http://www.soulveggie.com ....and, I found an online copy of a " no fat pizza cheese sauce " from Bryanna I've been using from one of her books, and posted link to same. FYI, Mark
