Susan's FF Chocolate Orange Cake Gone Chile!

Hi all,

I just wanted to share that this is he third time I've made Susan's

cake and it has become a favourite. The first time I made it as

directed and yummy! The second time, I added Grand Marnier rather than

orange juice and put candied orange peel in the cake on on it.

but, today - this is my absolute favourite - I put New Mexico red chile

powder and flakes in the cake, no orange flavour at all, upped the

cinnamon, added chunks of dark chocolate and made a red chile chocolate

thick glaze icing and dusted it with more red chile powder.

we're all heading home to Taos tomorrow to visit and it's put us in a

Nuevo Mexico mood.

Shen, that sounds amazing! How spicy is it? I've been afraid to try

pepper in chocolate cake because my daughter hates spicy things. But

I'm tempted to try that.

 

I'm packing up tonight to go to Arizona tomorrow, so we may cross

paths in some airport along the way.
