Guest guest
I'm normally a lurker but I saw the recent posts requesting crockpot recipes. A couple of weekends ago I had the good fortune to attend the Vegan Gal retreat in South Haven, Michigan (see www.vegan-gal.com for more great info -- Jill Ovnik is so inspiring). One of the speakers was Joann Rachor. She demonstrated how to use a crockpot to cook all sorts of vegan goodies, from sauces, to breakfast foods, to breads, pizza, and beyond! I purchased her book, Fast Cooking in a Slow Cooker Every Day of the Year: A Slow Cooker Vegetarian Cookbook, from Amazon last week. There is an extensive variety of recipes in the book. Also, " vegetarian " is really a misnomer -- all the recipes are vegan, no animal products whatsoever. I'm hoping to get to the grocery store this weekend so I can get the ingredients to make this wonderful, slightly sweet dark rye bread we had for lunch one day at the retreat. Guest guest
Hey veggiedeb, I'm from Madison, WI too. I've met a few vegans here but not ones who are also trying to eat whole and healthy foods. but I know it's the way to go because my health has improved dramatically. -barb On May 9, 2008, at 8:57 AM, veggiedeb7609 wrote: > I'm normally a lurker but I saw the recent posts requesting crockpot > recipes. > > A couple of weekends ago I had the good fortune to attend the Vegan > Gal retreat in South Haven, Michigan (see www.vegan-gal.com for more > great info -- Jill Ovnik is so inspiring). > > One of the speakers was Joann Rachor. Guest guest
I’m vegan and trying to eat whole healthy foods (and some days I’m successful). I live in Australia now, but I’m born and raised in Oshkosh, Wisconsin! Small world. Oh, and Debra, thanks for turning me on to the vegan-gal website, I’ll be sharing that with a friend of mine over here who’s just switched to vegan recently. Very helpful!
