I don't know if you had lactose intolerance before, but it is amazing

to me how much my digestive system has acclimated to the fat-free

vegan diet. Yesterday a couple from church took me out to lunch after

services and I got a Gardenburger with mushrooms, a " garden salad "

(bowl of iceberg lettuce) with vinegar, and a little bowl of bits of

fruit. The couple asked me if the Gardenburger were vegan and I said

some types are and some have milk in them but that if I asked, I might

not be able to eat it. (which got a chuckle.)

Boy, did my digestive system complain for a few hours when I got home!

I couldn't figure if it was hidden dairy in the Gardenburger and bun

or if I had exceeded the level of fat-per-meal that my body has grown

accustomed to. Maybe next time I end up at that restaurant I'll get

one of their " fancy salads " , hold the dead animals. (They have a

wonderful salad with dried cranberries on it that would be perfect if

they didn't put dead bird all over it! LOL)

Yes, but it's even worse after not eating dairy for a while.

Poor you. :-( (The standard Gardenburger has a bunch of cheese in it.)
