Guest guest
If anyone knows how to make popcorn without salt and oil more appealing than styrofoam chunks, would you please respond because it seemed rather gross yesterday when I made some popcorn with my new airpopper. Guest guest
I'd toss it in some nutritional yeast and garlic powder. -Erin http://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog - nlfraley35 Monday, March 03, 2008 6:35 AM Good tasting, healthy popcorn? Guest guest
Agreed - Or for a change you could always try nutritional yeast and cajun spice mix, with or without lime juice to lubricate the corn a little! Guest guest
I love airpopped popcorn - I eat everyday. The dilemma used to be how to get sea salt or other flavors to " stick " to the dry popcorn. I mixed a concentrated sea-salt water solution until almost entirely dissolved, poured through a coffee filter to filter out any undesolved salt, and put into a small, fine-misting pump bottle. While the popcorn is falling into the bowl, I mist it so all the pieces get a fine coating. Since the mist is fine, the water evaporates quickly and leaves the salt taste on the popcorn. It works great! I've even added some english toffee flavor and other non-fat, healthy flavorings to a misting bottle and enjoyed many different flavors. The sky's the limit! Enjoy! I use a mist bottle, too. I put half Bragg's and half lemon juice in it and after misting, I dust the popcorn with nutritional yeast. Very savory.
