Guest guest
Peggy, I am not familiar with the booklet you are talking about, but the Dec/Jan edition of VegNews had an article with that info in it. Janet - pkinnetz Sunday, January 20, 2008 10:55 AM vegetarian source book I have misplaced a booklet that was put out by one of the vegetarian orvegan societies (I think) that listed whether foods and additives wereanimal or plant based. I'd like to replace it (since it wasn't reallymine-- it was my daughter's). It looked to be fairly comprehensive, though not exhaustive. I listed if ingredients were vegan, vegetarian oranimal based, or sometimes both. Does anyone know the title and where it might be purchased? I think itwas titled something like "vegetarian sources" or "guide to foodingredients" but I'm very hazy on that. Peggy K.
Guest guest
Peggy, I was in Borders Book Store only last week and I did see a vegan book (small, thin one) that was only about ingredients which were animal or plant based. I was not interested in this book and instead bought the title " The Complete Idiot's Guide to Vegan Living. " The book you are looking for is still available and is probably available at a bookstore near you. I don't remember the exact title of that little book, but I do remember seeing it. Guest guest
I was just surfing the net one day last fall and found that you can download a list of ingredients that might be of concern to vegans. If you don't have an iPod, don't fret! You should still be able to download it to your computer. The Animal Ingredient List A-Z for iPod provides the information made available by HappyCow.net (A-Z) and The Vegan Society (E Numbers) in a handy, portable, quick-reference format. One can quickly skim the list for problematic ingredients, and further details about an ingredient or an E Number (and any alternatives to it) can be accessed with a click.Source of A-Z:HappyCow - http://www.happycow.net/health-animal-ingredients.html</p>Source of E Numbers:The Vegan Society - http://www.vegansociety.com/html/food/criteria.php</p>Project Homepage:http://thirty5.org/ipod/</p>pkinnetz@... wrote: I have misplaced a booklet that was put out by one of the vegetarian or vegan societies (I think) that listed whether foods and additives were animal or plant based.
